Class I ß-1,3-glucanases in the endosperm of tobacco during germination

The incidence of ruptured seed coats (a), ruptured endosperm (b), and ß-1,3-glucanase activity expressed as pkat/seed (c).

Seeds were germinated in continuous light at 24 ºC in the presence of 0 (Control), 10-7 M, 10-6 M, and 10-5 M ABA added to the medium at the start of the experiment. The data are presented as mean values, usually for at least two samples in two independent experiments. The error bars represent the maximum ±SEM.
